New material !

On Wednesday we leave for Busan in South Korea. On Saturday night we have the Asian premier of Material.

A big material adventure awaits, as well as a 40 hour journey from Joburg to Busan. By the time we get there on Friday night we won't be able to keep our eyes open ... we will fit right in (I wonder if they will find this funny over there).

So, we got some new material to coincide with our Asian screenings, as well as our UK premier in the London film festival, the week after Busan. Yes, a new internationally styled trailer is ready to roll.

Check it out and please spread the word - go to : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArJFQIO1oqI

Also, we have an updated poster for these festivals :

Heritage Day

Today is Heritage Day in South Africa and also, national braai day. Not sure what this all means to be honest, but over here it is "catch up on work" day.

But before we get stuck in, let's have a little laugh.

PHILANTHROPY

A visitor to Israel attended a recital and concert at the Moscovitz Auditorium. He was quite impressed with the architecture and the acoustics.

He inquired of the tour guide, "Is this magnificent auditorium named after Chaim Moscovitz, the famous Talmudic scholar?" "No," replied the guide.

"It is named after Sam Moscovitz, the writer."

"Never heard of him. What did he write?"

"A check", replied the guide.

Busan !

On the 3rd of October, in two weeks time, Craig Freimond and I leave for Busan in South Korea. This is the biggest film festival in Asia and another exciting milestone for the Material movie.

Here are our screening dates for Busan :

10-06 19:00 Megabox Haeundae 6
10-09 16:00 CGV Centum City 4
10-12 10:00 CGV Centum City 4

Craig and I will be at the first two screenings to do a Q&A after the film.

From Busan we head to London for the London film festival. That is the big one. Our London adventure is a make or break.

If you have any friends or family in London then please encourage them to come see the film. The cast and the film makers will all be there at every screening.

Viva Material viva !

Dr. Moosa

So, we are back from the Montreal film festival and in just under 3 weeks we will be heading to Busan in South Korea for the film festival there - it is the biggest in Asia. And from Busan we head to London, for the London film festival. A lot on the go, and it is still all material.

This Friday evening Riaad Moosa, the good doctor (and yes, he is a medical doctor) is going to be addressing and entertaining the FCA in Johannesburg. The foreign correspondents who are assigned to Africa mostly all reside in Johannesburg and Riaad is going to be doing his thing this Friday night. I can't wait. After all, laughter really is the best medicine.

The folk in Montreal all enjoyed the movie and they were all very much captivated by Riaad. His story in the film, and in real life, is amazing.

The Moosa man cometh!

No words ...

Sometimes you experience something that just takes your breath away. And this particular something everyone should watch ... and not just once.

This is 10 minutes of pure joy and inspiration. Switch off your phone, sit back and celebrate.
